Cal-Wood Education Center is seeking energetic, flexible, hard-working, and motivated applicants for an exciting and rewarding Latino Family Camp support staff position. Support staff are responsible for helping instructors provide a fun and active experience for latino family groups made up of 8 to 10 families, around 40 people total.
Programs are two-day / one-night, on the weekends throughout the summer. Our staff will get to enjoy working at a national, state, and county parks, with a team of other motivated individuals passionate about outdoor activities, natural science, and education.
Support instructors during each program. Programs are two-day / one-night programs with latino families.
Help instructors prepare materials needed for each program.
Work two meals and one night program (typically a night hike or campfire, depends on the group) each weekend.
Note: Support staff is not asked to work overnight.
Qualities and Qualifications:
High level of personal motivation for continued learning, personal responsibility for individual projects, and flexibility are necessary to meet the demands of a dynamic residential work schedule.
Interest on outdoor activities.
Work with a team of other motivated and passionate staff to support our Latino Family Camps
Ability to pass background checks.
Ability to hike 1-4 miles daily, lift heavy objects, and maintain a positive attitude outdoors in all weather conditions.
Spanish ability is required.
Must be fully vaccinated
Availability to work during weekends of June, July and August.
